RMS Energy Co, LLC is a mission-driven company focused on utility-scale energy projects. They are seeking a Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of these projects, ensuring successful delivery and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Lead complex energy projects from initial design through contract execution, ensuring milestones are met and client objectives are achieved
- Serve as the primary point of contact for utilities, developers, RTOs/ISOs, and other key stakeholders, building strong relationships that drive project success
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with internal teams, clients, and external partners
- Coordinate interconnection studies and agreements, promoting transparency and ensuring timely execution
- Manage project budgets, develop cost estimates, and provide financial reporting in alignment with client expectations
- Guide clients through regulatory and interconnection processes, offering strategic advice across the entire project lifecycle
- Lead tactical planning initiatives that align with broader business goals, including sustainability efforts and key account support
- Mentor and develop project managers and engineers, helping to build a high-performing and scalable delivery team
- Stay up to date on regulatory changes, utility interconnection processes, and evolving industry codes and standards
- Capture lessons learned and champion continuous improvement efforts to enhance design quality, project execution, and stakeholder engagement
Requirements:
- 4+ years of progressive experience supporting utility-scale substation, generation, or transmission projects
- 5+ years of project management experience in the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables across complex, multi-phase engineering projects
- Strong understanding of interconnection processes (including generation and merchant transmission) and RTO/ISO operations
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with diverse stakeholders such as utilities, developers, and regulatory agencies
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline
- Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet, or similar platforms
- Ability to travel up to 25% across the U.S. to support offices and job sites
- Successfully pass a stringent background check and drug screening
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Master's degree in engineering, business, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with bulk power system design, transmission planning, or generation interconnection studies
- Background in navigating regulatory or permitting environments for large-scale energy infrastructure projects
