Banner Health is a nationally-recognized healthcare leader committed to innovation and patient care. They are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Supply Chain Data Engineer to support the design, integration, and maintenance of enterprise data systems that drive supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a lead in the analysis of business requirements associated with the design and implementation of highly complex, highly scalable enterprise data processes. Designs and develops robust and efficient processes for extracting, loading and transforming data to meet the needs of enterprise scale projects
- Provides guidance and participates in activities involved in the analysis, design, development, troubleshooting, debugging and maintenance of an enterprise data management and data ecosystem
- Identifies, investigates, tracks, and resolves the most complex technical errors ensuring the solution is timely and of acceptable quality
- Establishes and enforces database standards, guidelines, procedures and quality assurance for database deliverables such as conceptual design, logical data model capacity planning, external data interface specs, data loading, data maintenance plan and security
- Reviews and analyzes data objects and models to improve data management and data access
- Designs, constructs, tests and implements extraction and transformation programs, processes and cycles for historical and current source data
- Creates technical specification for supporting enterprise data transformation processes and supplementing system documentation for ETL processes
- Performs data profiling, source-target mappings, data transformation development, optimization, testing and implementation. Identifies required tasks and accurately determines needed resources and timeframes to ensure delivery of business needs
- This position participates and serves as a lead in maintaining the ETL environment for the company’s system-wide enterprise data warehouse. Work is performed in a fast paced multi-tasked environment where there may be conflicting priorities or tight deadlines. The incumbent has mid level decision-making authority and works at peer level with management across diverse areas and multiple states. The incumbent participates in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, strategic and planning sessions, implementation activities, and supports functions system wide
Requirements:
- Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and healthcare experience
- Minimum of eight years increasingly responsible ETL work
- Expert knowledge of data warehouse concepts, dimensional data modeling and complex interdependent SQL processes
- Advanced knowledge and skills in ETL concept, design and development using data integration tools
- Experience working in a large data warehouse environment with complex data models
- Strong problem solving and data analysis skills
- Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in large scale project planning and reporting either individual or team
- Requires communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences
- Requires ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels
- Skills to mentor less experienced team members
- Variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred
