Juniper is a company that designs and manufactures system-level thermal solutions for various sectors including aerospace and medical. The Data Center Thermal Solutions Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, prototyping, and validation of thermal systems for data center environments, collaborating closely with multiple teams to deliver innovative cooling solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop thermal management solutions - such as cold plates, heat exchangers, coolant distribution units (CDUs), and air-to-liquid systems - from concept through production
- Perform thermal, fluid, and structural simulations (CFD/FEA) to optimize system performance and reliability
- Conduct hands-on prototyping, testing, and validation under real-world operating conditions
- Translate customer needs into engineering requirements and scalable product architectures
- Manage customer engagement through regular status updates and overall project coordination
- Partner with sales and marketing to support proposals and create technical content that drives business growth
- Produce detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, bills of materials, and supporting engineering documentation (e.g., test reports, work instructions, O&M manuals)
- Support product lifecycle phases, including EVT, DVT, and new product introductions (NPI)
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in thermal systems development, ideally within Data Center cooling applications
- Experience with pumped single-phase systems + pumped two-phase experience (not required but a huge bonus)
- Strong foundation in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics
- Experience with CFD tools (e.g., Ansys Fluent, Autodesk CFD, or similar)
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks
- Experience with two-phase cooling technologies (e.g., refrigerant systems, heat pipes, vapor chambers)
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE TC 9.9, ASHRAE 90.4, and OCP guidelines
- Experience with data center infrastructure and liquid cooling deployments
- Knowledge of environmental regulations related to refrigerant use in cooling systems
