Modus21 is a Charleston, South Carolina based business and technology consulting firm specializing in solving complex business problems for global business and government clients. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - DevSecOps Engineer to support the Cloud Engineering and Modernization Support Services for the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic. The role involves providing expertise on the Broadcom Tanzu Platform and implementing DevSecOps methodologies to enhance software development and delivery processes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise on the Broadcom Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry product to support deployment, operation, and maintenance activities
- Experience developing, operating, and maintaining Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using both Jenkins and Concourse
- Perform appropriate cybersecurity engineering activities on the Tanzu platform to include vulnerability scans, system hardening, and test-fix-test activities
- Use GitLab and develop infrastructure as code (IaC) to deploy resources in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Lift and shift planning for existing on-premises applications to cloud-based environments (AWS)
- Provide clear technical guidance and direction to stakeholders, including Government IPT Leadership and development teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or mathematics
- Required Security+ Certification
- Required Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer certification
- 10-15 years experience of cloud platforms (AWS) and DevSecOps principles and practices
- Scripting languages: Bash / POSIX shell (required); familiarity with Python and Node.js for scripting tasks and tooling
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
- Strong problem-solving and design skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills
- Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work in a self-guided manner and excellent organizational skills
- Must be a US citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) TOP SECRET Security Clearance
- 5+ years experience specifically working with Tanzu
- Preferred experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence and JIRA)
