SharkNinja is a global product design and technology company that focuses on creating innovative lifestyle solutions. They are seeking a Product Design Engineer to join the Advanced Development team, where the role involves contributing to early-stage product development and collaborating across functions to bring new product concepts to life.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to early-stage product development by supporting the creation of roadmaps and building out concepts that expand our Ninja Cooking categories
- Explore new product opportunities where the Ninja brand can win, using a user-first mindset and sound engineering thinking
- Generate innovative ideas within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You’ll contribute to brainstorming sessions, develop concept sketches, and present compelling product stories
- Visualize and prototype your ideas, using sketches, models, and test rigs to communicate and validate concepts. You’ll work hands-on in our development labs and be comfortable with both CAD and physical prototyping tools
- Gather cross-functional feedback to shape product direction, showing curiosity and openness while defending strong ideas
- Test and evaluate key risks, developing test methods to ensure products meet expectations before entering detailed development
Requirements:
- A balanced background in creative thinking, technical understanding, and hands-on problem-solving
- Creative: You can generate novel ideas and communicate them through sketches or quick models
- Technical: You understand engineering fundamentals across mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing disciplines and can validate your ideas with solid reasoning or basic testing
- Practical: You have a hands-on approach and enjoy building prototypes and test rigs to bring concepts to life
- Action-oriented: You work proactively, adapt quickly, and maintain momentum even when challenges arise
- Organized and logical, with the ability to prioritize and simplify complex problems
- Approximately 3–5 years of experience in a design or product development environment
- Degree in Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or CREO
- Experience in consumer electronics or related fields is a plus
- Familiarity with plastics and metals manufacturing processes
