About this role
Envision is a leading national medical group focused on delivering high-quality care to patients when and where they need it most. They are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Engineer – AI to join their AI Engineering team, where the role involves designing, developing, and deploying advanced AI and machine learning solutions across their products.
Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, and deploys production-grade AI/ML systems that meet performance and scalability requirements
- Leads AI/ML project workstreams independently, coordinating with stakeholders across Product, Data, and Infrastructure teams
- Serves as an internal consultant to other engineering teams, helping them identify and implement AI solutions in their domains
- Mentors and coaches other engineers and cross-functional peers, reviewing code, sharing best practices, and promoting technical growth
- Translates business requirements into robust, well-architected AI software solutions using sound engineering principles
- Optimizes models and systems for scalability, reliability, and performance in production environments
- Contributes to the design and evolution of internal AI platforms and tooling, improving development workflows and deployment efficiency
- Stays up to date with cutting-edge research and industry trends in AI/ML, and assess their potential application to real-world use cases
Requirements:
- Ability and desire to learn new technology quickly and effectively
- Proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX
- Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, data structures, and software design principles
- Experience deploying models in production using cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure)
- Familiarity with MLOps practices, including model versioning, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with large-scale data processing (e.g., Spark, Kafka, or Ray)
- Knowledge of deep learning, NLP, or generative AI
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required
- 4 years of experience in software engineering, including 2 years in AI/ML required
- Master's degree preferred
