The Technical Product Management Intern will work closely with product owners, UX designers, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and support the product roadmap throughout its development stages.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with product owners, UX designers and platform development teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensure feasibility of product features, and communicate risks and dependencies
- Create and maintain product documentation including user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements for development teams
- Participate in agile ceremonies such sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions, helping to define scope and ensure alignment with product strategy
- Shadow a Senior Technical Product Manager (TPM) to understand end-to-end TPM responsibilities
- Deliver agreed-upon solutions to production and ensure quality and scalability
- Conduct pre-release testing and validation of software before going live
- Support software releases and post-production maintenance
- Focus on accessibility requirements (e.g., WACAG) and build software to interact with assistive technologies
- Conduct research activities and prepare for product development discussions
- Triage customer support tickets and coordinate fixes with the appropriate teams
- Navigate production issues calmly and prioritize competing tasks effectively
- Contribute to higher education products and directly impact the future of learning through innovative solutions
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree within the United States
- Majors: Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Product Management, Software Development, UX Design, Journalism, English
- Open to upcoming Junior, Senior, or Master's students
- Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Pendo, Smartsheet, Tableau, and user experience design
- Strong prioritization, communication, and collaboration skills
- Prior internship experience related to software, AI, or data science
- Coursework or practical experience in computer science, data science, or product management
- Self-starter with a 'go-getter' attitude
- Excited to learn and contribute
- Ability to navigate challenges calmly and effectively
- AI experience is desirable
