Valuebase builds modern property tax assessment software for government entities. They are seeking an Account Executive to manage government sales, conduct product demos, and close contracts with assessors and tax officials.
Responsibilities:
- Run demos. Lead 8 to 15 product demos a week with assessor offices and taxing jurisdictions across the country. Tailor every demo to the jurisdiction's data, workflow, and political pressure points
- Own the cycle. Take ownership of opportunities from first demo through procurement, legal review, and signature. Government cycles are slow and paperwork heavy. You will be expected to navigate them without losing momentum
- Quarterback the deal team. Pull in the founder, solutions engineering, and account management at the right moments. You are the single point of accountability for the customer until close
- Travel to win deals. Get on planes when a deal needs it. Expect roughly 30 to 40 percent travel to county courthouses, state assessor conferences (IAAO, state association events), and on site evaluations
- Manage the pipeline. Keep HubSpot clean and current. Forecast weekly. We will know what is real and what is not because of your hygiene
- Feed product. Bring objections, feature gaps, and competitive intel back to product and engineering every week. Your demos are our best customer research
Requirements:
- 4 plus years of full cycle B2B or B2G SaaS sales, with at least 2 years selling into state, county, or local government
- A track record of closing six figure contracts where you personally ran the demo. We will ask for specific deals and specific demos
- Comfort with technical product. You can speak credibly to a CAMA director about ratio studies, mass appraisal models, GIS layers, and data ingestion without needing engineering on every call
- Experience navigating government procurement: RFPs, sole source justifications, cooperative purchasing vehicles, and end of fiscal year timing
- Hunger. We are a small team. The CEO is currently running demos in between flights. The person who joins us is somebody who wants to run hard, not somebody waiting for the playbook to be handed to them
- Direct experience selling into county or municipal assessor offices
- Familiarity with the property tax assessment industry: CAMA systems, IAAO standards, sales ratio studies, equalization, appeals
- A network of relationships with assessors, tax commissioners, or state DOR staff you can warm dial day one
- Experience selling into the Southeast or Midwest, where most of our current pipeline lives
