Job Title: Vehicle Diagnostics & Validation Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced System Verification Engineer to support electrical, electronic, and vehicle connectivity systems for heavy-duty commercial vehicles. The engineer will work closely with development teams to validate and troubleshoot EE systems on test vehicles, support root cause analysis activities, and ensure vehicle functionality meets design and quality expectations.
This role requires strong hands-on troubleshooting capabilities, CAN communication knowledge, and experience working with vehicle electrical/electronic systems in a commercial vehicle or automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform software and hardware updates on test vehicles
- Conduct system verification and troubleshooting activities on vehicle EE systems
- Perform root cause analysis for functional and electrical issues
- Execute measurements and diagnostics at various electrical system points
- Support fault tracing and vehicle logging activities
- Collaborate with development engineers to resolve vehicle issues
- Document defects and provide feedback to development teams
- Support road approval and validation testing activities
- Participate in training, knowledge transfer, and implementation support
- Maintain and update databases related to fault tracing and testing
- Recommend improvements to testing and troubleshooting processes
Strong Experience In:
- Commercial vehicle electrical/electronic systems
- Vehicle system verification and validation
- CAN communication protocols
- CAN analysis tools (especially Vector CANalyzer)
- Automotive electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Vehicle controller software toolchains
- EE system debugging and fault tracing
- Wiring harness troubleshooting and repair
- Sensor technologies and vehicle electronics
- Preferred Tools / Technologies:
- Vector CANalyzer
- Engineering Tool
- Prosit
- Vehicle data logging and diagnostic tools
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in automotive or commercial vehicle EE systems
- Hands-on vehicle troubleshooting experience
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical architecture
- Experience supporting test vehicles and validation programs
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to travel domestically within the US as required
Preferred:
- M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- Experience with Mack Trucks or Volvo Trucks platforms
- Heavy-duty truck or off-highway vehicle experience
