Crane Authentication is seeking a Senior Director of Product Management to drive profitable growth across their Government Revenue Solutions and Brand Authentication portfolios. This role is responsible for product line strategy, financial performance, and market success, leading teams to define strategic product roadmaps and execute go-to-market strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Owns the commercial health of the below areas by monitoring financial performance, market trends, key metrics, and by driving actions to deliver profitable, growth:
- Product
- Micro Optic, OVD’s & NXT Security Features
- Government Solutions (Revenue & ID)
- Brand & Licensing
- Leads market discovery, competitive analysis, and customer validation to define current and future product and service requirements
- Shapes and executes the strategic product roadmap through ongoing engagement with customers, sales, engineering, and other internal stakeholders
- Defines and prioritizes customer segments, buyer/user personas, pricing models, and go‑to‑market strategies to accelerate revenue growth
- Drives full product lifecycle management -from concept and MVP/Beta testing through development, launch, adoption, and ongoing optimization
- Serves as the product evangelist to marketing, sales, services, and leadership, ensuring alignment around product vision, value proposition, and best practices
- Conducts win/loss analysis and competitive assessments, creating tools such as battle cards to strengthen commercial execution
- Leads cross‑functional planning sessions and stakeholder feedback loops to ensure alignment and execution across functions
- Collaborates with Engineering by defining and prioritizing product requirements and validating delivery against intended outcomes. In both software and physical product roadmaps
- Supports product launches with clear deployment plans, KPIs, internal enablement, and ongoing post‑launch optimization
- Mentors and develops product team members and provides leadership coverage for the VP Technology Innovation & Product as needed
Requirements:
- 12+ years of Product Management experience or relevant experience within the appropriate product/service line
- Experience working directly with customers is preferred
- Previous experience interacting with software development teams in an Agile environment (digital roles only)
- Experience with responsibility for product strategy, roadmap ownership and full lifecycle management
- Experience in security printing, authentication features, holograms, security threads or government security is preferred
- Experience operating in high‑security, compliance‑driven environments where quality, durability, and integrity are critical
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, technical products in one or more of the following areas: Security technologies or authentication features, Secure document components (passports, ID cards, visas, certificates), Identity solutions or government‑regulated programs, Revenue protection, tax stamps, excise, or compliance‑driven products
- Proven ability to work closely with engineering, R&D, and manufacturing teams to translate technical capabilities into scalable, market‑ready products
- Experience engaging with large brands, government customers, regulators, or public‑sector stakeholders, including support of tenders, RFPs, or long‑cycle procurement processes
- Analytical thinking – able to review customer interviews and determine how to distill into key themes and recommendations that can be shared across the organization
- Ability to rapidly grasp technology and trends and make recommendations on future roadmap integration
- Ability to make critical assessments of single-customer technology advancements, and the ability to commercialize custom projects through targeting wider customer segments, defining priorities and go-to-market plans
- Directly customer-facing, with the ability to distill customer market problems into actionable product strategy
- Strong collaborator, able to achieve product objectives through working with wide-reaching internal stakeholders, from technology teams to marketing
- Able to demonstrate an innovative approach to product road-mapping, including early-stage (pre-product) market testing
- Adept at navigating technology-first conversations to identify and assess commercial and customer-driven implications and opportunities
- Ability to work across geographically distributed cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex business and technical concepts to a wide range of audiences
- Ability to ensure global customers are represented in market assessment activities, and meetings can be held remotely with global teams
- Ability to balance innovation with operational execution, ensuring products meet performance, security, and delivery commitments
- Experience with the Pragmatic Institute / Pragmatic Marketing framework is preferred
