Dropbox is a leading file hosting service that is seeking a Staff Product Manager for Team Foundations. In this role, you will own the product strategy and execution for enhancing collaboration across teams, focusing on identity management and user experience. You will work closely with engineering and various departments to ensure coherent product delivery and address structural gaps in team collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end Team Foundations product strategy, with multi-team identity as the primary pillar and password-sharing monetization and monthly licensing as adjacent growth levers
- Define how Dropbox should support complex external collaboration and multi-team workflows where work crosses company lines, involves contractors or clients, or requires one person to participate in multiple teams or products
- Turn technically complex identity, access, licensing, and account-model work into intuitive Core product flows for joining teams, switching contexts, managing access, adding collaborators, and understanding what changes when someone becomes a team member
- Design and ship foundational Core product experiences such as multi-team join/create flows, account and team switching, admin and member lifecycle paths, external collaborator upgrade paths, monthly license management, and progressive interventions for likely password-sharing accounts
- Partner deeply with engineering on authentication, RBAC, multi-tenancy, account/session state, permissions, billing, and data-model tradeoffs while staying accountable for customer clarity, product quality, and business impact
- Act as the connective tissue across Product, Engineering, Design, Research, Data Science, Growth, Identity/Auth Platform, Commerce/Billing, Sharing, Dash, Desktop, Mobile, PMM, Legal, Support, and Finance so the full system ships coherently rather than as disconnected surfaces
- Define and track the metrics that matter, represent the full workstream to senior leaders, and drive cross-functional execution across Product, Engineering, Design, Research, Data Science, Growth, Identity/Auth, Commerce/Billing, Sharing, Dash, Desktop, Mobile, PMM, Legal, Support, and Finance
Requirements:
- 8+ years of product management experience, including ownership of complex B2B SaaS, collaboration, admin, identity, permissions, billing, or growth products with measurable user and business impact
- Proven ability to lead Staff-level product scope: ambiguous, cross-org initiatives with multiple senior stakeholders, deep technical dependencies, and business-critical outcomes
- Strong technical fluency with customer-facing product work built on complex systems. You can reason about authentication, RBAC, multi-tenancy, identity models, account/session state, permissions, billing systems, data pipelines, experimentation, and cross-surface rollout risk well enough to partner deeply with engineering and make strong product calls
- Strong product craft and UX judgment. You can make technically complex flows feel simple, safe, and intuitive, especially in high-stakes moments like joining a team, switching teams, managing access, changing licenses, or understanding what happens to personal and team content
- Strong customer instincts for SMB teams and collaboration-heavy industries such as construction and media/creative production. You understand the practical realities of external collaboration, temporary contributors, client work, and multi-team participation, and can translate those patterns into product systems that feel simple and trustworthy
- Fluency with data, metrics, and experimentation. You can independently reason through funnels, cohort behavior, revenue impact, churn risk, statistical validation, and the instrumentation needed to make decisions with confidence
- Exceptional cross-functional leadership and executive-ready communication. You build trust across engineering, design, data science, growth, finance, legal, PMM, and support partners, and can distill a multi-surface, technically complex strategy into crisp narratives for any audience
- Experience building identity, account, workspace, team membership, permissions, collaboration, or admin products at scale
- Experience with authentication, authorization, RBAC, multi-tenancy, account switching, workspace switching, or related technical product areas
- Experience at a B2B SaaS or product-led growth company, especially where team formation, expansion loops, flexible licensing, or external collaboration were core to the business model
- Experience working on products that span Web, Desktop, Mobile, and backend services, with careful staged rollout and incident-risk management
- Experience with monetization or packaging systems, including billing, seat management, temporary licenses, trial conversion, or account-sharing conversion
