Breast Cancer Can Stick It! Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research and support through music-centric events. They are seeking a Volunteer Social Media Manager to enhance their digital presence, engage with the community, and promote fundraising events such as the Drummathon.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a monthly social media calendar that aligns with the foundation’s mission, fundraising goals, and event schedule
- Work closely with the Producer of our signature broadcasts to create promotional clips, live-session reminders, and recap content
- Monitor and ensure brand-minded responses to comments, messages, and mentions across all platforms to foster a supportive and active community
- Work with our partners and sponsors teams to post, highlight and tag our partners and sponsors when appropriate based on level of support
- Ensure all posts reflect the 'Rock & Roll' spirit of the brand while maintaining the sensitivity and accuracy required for health-related content
- Create buzz and drive registrations/donations for our annual Drummathon and other music-based fundraisers
- Track engagement metrics to understand what content resonates most with our audience and adjust strategies accordingly
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing professional social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to balance a 'rock star' attitude with empathy
- A passion for music/drumming and/or a personal connection to the breast cancer cause
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote, volunteer-based environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the production team to turn video content into social-friendly formats
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) or video editing software is a major plus
