7shifts is a scheduling and payroll platform designed to help restaurant teams thrive. As the Senior Product Manager for Employee Training, you'll own the development of a critical product pillar that integrates structured training into the app, focusing on AI capabilities to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Set the vision and roadmap for the Employee Training product by staying close to restaurant operators, synthesizing customer research, and making clear tradeoff decisions that keep the team focused on what matters most
- Make AI capabilities a core part of the product, not a feature addition, by partnering with Engineering and Design to ship intelligent course creation, personalization, and manager insights that save operators real time
- Use AI to accelerate the team's discovery and delivery cycles. You'll build repeatable, AI-led workflows for research synthesis, customer interview analysis, PRD writing, and competitive monitoring so the squad moves faster without sacrificing quality. You'll prototype with AI tools to validate ideas with your designer before they become engineering work
- Turn ambiguous problems into clear, prioritized work by defining success metrics upfront, tracking outcomes post-launch, and using what you learn to drive the next iteration
- Connect the dots across Engineering, Design, Data, and Marketing so that what gets built is technically sound, well-positioned, and actually adopted on the restaurant floor
Requirements:
- You've worked in B2B SaaS and understand what it takes to build for operators who need simple, reliable tools that work in fast-moving, high-pressure environments
- You've taken a product or feature from zero to initial customers and kept improving it post-launch, and you can point to outcomes, not just the fact that it shipped
- You've owned a roadmap end-to-end, making prioritization calls that connect day-to-day work to business goals and that you can defend with data and clear reasoning
- You define what success looks like before you build, setting metrics, validating hypotheses, and using analytics to decide what to do next
- You turn customer interviews, competitive research, and messy real-world problems into simple, scalable solutions, and you bring stakeholders along without needing direct authority to do it
- You use AI tools daily in your own work to write faster, synthesize information, and reduce time-to-decision, and you know how to build those habits into a team's workflow
- You've shipped features that required hard tradeoffs, balancing technical constraints, user needs, and business goals, and you know how to make those calls clearly and bring engineering and design with you
- Experience building or scaling learning, training, or LMS products, you understand how to design for knowledge retention, not just content delivery
- A background in edtech or workforce enablement, where engagement and completion rates are the metrics that matter
- Familiarity with product-led growth motions, you've seen how a great in-product experience can drive adoption and expansion without a sales touch
- Previous experience in restaurant-tech, hospitality, or another high-turnover, shift-based industry where simplicity and speed of onboarding are critical
