Associate Software Engineer I

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is hiring an Associate Software Engineer on the Facets Integration and Development team. In this role, you will be part of a core engineering team that impacts the claims processing pipeline by building and supporting applications, primarily using C# and SQL Server.

Responsibilities:

• Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to design, develop, modify, or integrate information systems
• Devises or modifies application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements including capacity, operating time, response time, and form of desired results
• Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, subroutines, and scripts
• Maintains technical skill set for software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities and networks needed to support work assignments
• Responds to system failures and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of problems
• May conduct presentations to provide end users with knowledge to maximize their use of developed systems

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent work experience required
• 1 year of development experience specific to C#.NET in a professional environment
• Familiarity with SQL Databases
• Experience with FACETS would be a plus but not required
• Experience with Angular
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) tools such as source control, pipelines, and storyboards
• Interest in modern development tooling
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices
