Title: Solution Architect
Location: Remote but travel occasionally to Chicago or Houston office
Visa: or USC
Duration: 6 Months
Role Overview
We are seeking a US‑based Solution Architect to play a critical role on the JMS program. This individual will serve as a hands‑on technical leader responsible for architecting, designing, and supporting the delivery of complex, integration‑centric solutions across the full lifecycle—from design through build, test, and production go‑live.
Airline experience is preferred
This role requires strong integration expertise, the ability to work in a hybrid onsite–offshore delivery model, and practical experience applying AI capabilities to modern enterprise architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead solution architecture and technical design for the JMS program, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and alignment with enterprise standards.
- Own end‑to‑end technical delivery across design, build, test, deployment, and post‑go‑live stabilization.
- Define and govern API‑first and event‑driven architectures.
- Incorporate AI‑enabled capabilities into solution designs where appropriate (e.g., automation, intelligent routing, data enrichment, analytics, or operational insights).
- Partner closely with development, DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams to drive successful execution.
- Provide hands‑on technical guidance and troubleshooting when needed (this is not a purely advisory role).
- Collaborate effectively with offshore delivery teams, providing clear designs, documentation, and technical oversight.
- Support and contribute to migration and modernization initiatives, including legacy system transitions.
- Act as a technical liaison with stakeholders, translating business needs into well‑architected technical solutions.
Required Experience & Skills
- 10+ years overall IT experience, with 5+ years in a Solution Architect or Senior Technical Lead role.
- Proven delivery experience across the full solution lifecycle: design → build → test → go live.
- Strong hands‑on experience with:
- API gateways (Kong preferred)
- Event‑driven systems (e.g., Solace, Kafka, MQ)
- Experience designing secure, PII‑aware architectures, including:
- Data masking/unmasking
- Encryption in transit and at rest
- AI experience, including:
- Designing or integrating AI/ML‑enabled services into enterprise solutions
- Working with AI capabilities for automation, data analysis, decision support, or operational intelligence
- Understanding model integration patterns, data requirements, and governance considerations
- Cloud experience (AWS preferred) and strong collaboration with DevOps teams.
- Comfortable being hands‑on when required, not just providing oversight or guidance.
- Experience working in a hybrid onsite/offshore delivery model.
- Experience supporting migration projects and system modernization efforts.
Nice to Have
- Experience applying AI to integration platforms, messaging workflows, or operational monitoring.
- Familiarity with data pipelines and analytics that support AI solutions.
- Prior experience in regulated environments with strong data governance requirements.
Communication & Leadership
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working across business, product, and engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by influence and provide clear technical direction.
