Backblaze is the object storage leader in the open cloud movement, seeking a Product Manager for their Computer Backup product. The role involves leading strategy, execution, and growth for the product, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product success.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, defining vision and roadmap, leading discovery, and delivering high-quality features from concept through launch and iteration
- Conduct customer and market research, including interviews, usability testing, and competitive analysis, to uncover user needs, identify market opportunities, and shape product strategy
- Translate insights and complex problems into clear product requirements, PRDs, and measurable success criteria
- Make difficult product tradeoff decisions using data-driven analysis, balancing user priorities and technical constraints
- Define, track, and analyze key product metrics to inform decisions, iterate based on real-world performance and feedback, and drive continuous improvement
- Partner with Engineering, Design, and QA to ship high-quality features on schedule
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Support to ensure successful product launches and adoption
Requirements:
- 4+ years of product management experience in SaaS, consumer software, or cloud services
- Ownership-first mindset with the ability to take initiative, move quickly, and figure things out
- Ability to communicate clearly at different levels, including engaging with customers and driving alignment with senior stakeholders
- Comfort working in ambiguity and making data-informed decisions with imperfect information
- Strong analytical and prioritization skills, with the ability to separate must-haves from nice-to-haves
- Proven success in owning product roadmaps, defining MVPs, and driving the full product lifecycle
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong understanding of product prioritization frameworks and experience building products that deliver measurable value to customers
- Experience working in agile development environments and with tools such as Jira
- Experience in backup, security, or storage products
- Familiarity with SMB workflows, MSP ecosystems, or B2B2C product design
- Technical fluency with APIs, desktop applications, and cloud services
