Senior / Staff Software Engineer

Belvedere Recruitment is seeking a Senior or Staff Software Engineer to join a pioneering company focused on AI-driven solutions for financial compliance. In this role, you will take ownership of significant features across the technology stack, integrate with data providers, and ship production-ready code that directly impacts financial institutions' compliance processes.

Responsibilities:

• Integrate with external data providers to enable seamless information flow within the platform
• Build and refine AI agents that interact intelligently with customers and compliance workflows
• Ship new features and improvements daily using Python, maintaining production quality standards
• Make rapid technical decisions in an environment where speed and pragmatism are valued
• Take calculated risks and experiment with emerging large language model capabilities
• Collaborate directly with founders and customers to understand problems and validate solutions
• Contribute to architectural decisions that shape the platform's scalability and performance

Requirements:

• Proven proficiency building full-stack products from concept through production deployment
• Strong experience with Python and shipping production code at pace
• Pragmatic approach to engineering decisions, prioritising outcomes over perfection
• Genuine interest in large language models and their rapidly evolving capabilities
• Ability to discover customer problems through direct engagement and translate them into solutions
• Demonstrated sense of agency, ownership and urgency in driving projects forward
• Comfortable working in ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information
