About this role
WHOOP is on a mission to unlock human performance and healthspan. They are seeking an SDET II who will own the design and implementation of automated testing solutions, improve test frameworks, and drive quality best practices across the team.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable automated test solutions and/or tooling
- Extend and improve test frameworks to enhance reliability, maintainability, and performance
- Translate product requirements into comprehensive and effective test strategies
- Ensure test code is clean, reusable, and aligned with engineering best practices
- Identify gaps in test coverage and proactively address them
- Advocate for and implement best practices in testing and quality
- Reduce flaky tests and improve CI/CD pipeline stability
- Contribute to reducing technical debt in test infrastructure
- Independently scope, plan, and execute testing efforts for projects
- Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure features are testable
- Deliver high-quality test solutions with minimal oversight
- Debug complex issues across test and application layers
- Instrument systems and tests to provide meaningful quality metrics
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define and uphold quality standards
- Communicate trade-offs between speed, coverage, and reliability
- Share learnings and improvements with the broader team
- Provide guidance and code review feedback to other engineers
- Contribute to team-wide improvements in testing practices and tooling
- Help elevate overall quality standards within the team
