Brooksource is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy, implementation, and optimization of enterprise markdown and promotional pricing capabilities. This role involves collaborating with engineering and analytics teams to enhance markdown systems across retail and e-commerce channels.
Responsibilities:
- Lead product ownership and implementation efforts for markdown optimization initiative in partnership with Impact Analytics and internal engineering teams
- Define and execute the overall markdown system strategy, including workflows, business logic, promotional structures, and optimization capabilities
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to design scalable markdown and pricing approaches that support enterprise retail operations
- Drive alignment between merchandising, pricing, inventory, planning, and digital commerce teams to ensure markdown strategies support business objectives
- Support markdown and promotional capabilities across both brick-and-mortar stores and e-commerce channels
- Translate retail business requirements into product roadmaps, technical requirements, and implementation priorities
- Evaluate and optimize markdown strategies based on sales performance, inventory health, margin goals, and customer behavior
- Partner with third-party vendors and solution providers to support implementation, integrations, and ongoing enhancements
- Ensure the markdown platform supports the complexity of multi-channel retail operations, including varying product lifecycles, promotional events, and assortment strategies
- Serve as a senior-level autonomous leader capable of driving decisions, influencing stakeholders, and managing ambiguity in a fast-paced retail environment
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience working with markdown optimization systems in a retail environment
- Proven experience building, implementing, or enhancing markdown and promotional pricing platforms
- Strong understanding of retail pricing strategy, markdown optimization, promotional planning, and inventory management
- Experience supporting both stores and e-commerce pricing and markdown operations
- Background working within large or complex retail organizations with multiple product categories, channels, or merchandising structures
- Ability to partner effectively with engineering teams to build scalable product and system solutions
- Experience working with third-party retail analytics or markdown solution providers
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills
- Ability to operate independently and drive initiatives with minimal oversight
- Experience with one or more of the following platforms/tools: Impact Analytics, Zebra Technologies pricing/markdown solutions, Oracle Retail Markdown Optimization, RELEX Solutions, o9 Solutions
- Retail product management leadership experience within apparel, footwear, sporting goods, or specialty retail environments
- Experience modernizing pricing and markdown capabilities during enterprise transformation initiatives
- Strong understanding of how markdown strategy impacts revenue, inventory turnover, customer experience, and profitability
- Comfortable navigating both business and technical conversations with executive stakeholders, merchandising leaders, and engineering teams
