Connecticut Innovations is a strategic venture capital arm passionate about serving a diverse portfolio of companies. They are seeking a Growth Marketer for Cypher AI, who will be responsible for building demand generation from the ground up, supporting sales efforts, and owning product marketing and positioning.
Responsibilities:
- Build demand generation from zero. Own lead gen across outbound, content, events, partnerships, and account-based marketing. Build campaigns targeting biotech, pharma, synthetic biology, service providers, and lab operations leaders around use cases like protocol execution, ELN/LIMS modernization, data wrangling, and AI-ready lab infrastructure. Test channels fast, measure pipeline contribution, CAC, and conversion, and scale what works
- Support founder-led sales. Turn customer conversations into sharper messaging, case studies, and sales assets. Build tailored decks, one-pagers, and nurture flows for high-value accounts and pilots. Partner with the CEO to prioritize targets and ensure promising opportunities get timely, relevant follow-up
- Own product marketing and positioning. Make the technical product understandable and compelling. Refine Cypher’s category narrative, value props, and competitive differentiation (vs. Benchling, legacy ELN/LIMS, internal scripts, AI copilots). Translate complex scientific workflows into clear language for scientists, R&D leaders, and technical buyers, and feed market insights back to product
- Build early brand and market presence. Own content strategy and execution: thought leadership, case studies, technical explainers, launch content, and core collateral (website copy, landing pages, one-pagers, FAQs). Support announcements, investor updates, and partnership launches. Define Cypher’s voice: practical, technical, and serious about scientific outcomes
- Stand up marketing infrastructure. Operate CRM and marketing automation (AI native CRM or Hubspot). Build lead capture, attribution, segmentation, nurture flows, and dashboards. Track the funnel from visitor to lead to meeting to pilot to customer, with fast feedback loops to sales and founders
Requirements:
- 5–8+ years in B2B growth marketing, demand generation, product marketing, or full-stack marketing
- Experience marketing to technical or sophisticated business audiences, with strong independent writing across copy, landing pages, outbound, and sales assets
- Hands-on multi-channel campaign execution and a strong grasp of funnel metrics, attribution, and pipeline reporting
- Experience with AI native CRM and marketing automation tools
- Comfort operating with limited resources and high ambiguity, working directly with founders, with strong ownership and execution standards
- Background in life sciences, biotech, pharma, synthetic biology, scientific software, lab automation, or B2B SaaS
- Experience as a first or early marketing hire supporting founder-led sales
- Account-based marketing for mid-market or enterprise; familiarity with ELN, LIMS, bioinformatics, or R&D software
- Experience marketing AI products to technical users, and comfort using AI tools to accelerate the work
