About the RoleThe Test & Evaluation team is seeking
Manufacturing Engineers to join its growing organization in Berkeley, MO, driven by expansion within the Structures and Materials Test Lab. This role supports
fabrication planning, assembly, and installation for test hardware and instrumentation across aircraft and laboratory environments.
As a key contributor, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient manufacturing processes, high-quality build execution, and alignment with program and design requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Translate test hardware and instrumentation requirements into actionable plans for fabrication, laboratory setup, and flight testing
- Review engineering models and drawings; generate and manage redlines in coordination with design teams
- Develop and own manufacturing build plans, including detailed work instructions for fabrication and assembly
- Coordinate sourcing for fabrication and assembly (internal and external), including creating work statements
- Support fabrication efforts by acting as a liaison between engineering, suppliers, and shop teams
- Procure parts and materials required for testing; coordinate with supplier management
- Provide hands-on support during installation at aircraft (shipside) or lab setup environments
- Collaborate closely with:
- Test engineers and technicians
- Instrumentation engineers
- Program engineers and customers
- Mechanical/electrical designers
- Shop personnel (tooling, fabrication, and material management)
- Support manufacturing engineering activities across multiple sites when required
About the TeamThe Structures Lab supports comprehensive structural testing programs, ranging from component-level to full-scale system testing.
Manufacturing Engineers on this team:
- Own and drive build plan execution
- Ensure compliance with design configurations and manufacturing processes
- Conduct Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) analysis
- Develop integrated build plans incorporating:
- Work instructions
- Tooling requirements
- Inspection criteria
- Kitting and fabrication workflows
You will have the opportunity to support advanced development programs as well as legacy platforms.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in engineering design or manufacturing engineering
- 2+ years of experience with manufacturing planning tools
- 2+ years of experience using CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX)
Preferred Qualifications- Level 3: 3+ years of relevant experience
- Level 4: 5+ years of relevant experience
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience in Manufacturing Engineering within aerospace or related industries
- Familiarity with change management processes (e.g., engineering change notices or configuration updates)
- Experience with redline creation and collaboration with design teams
- Knowledge of:
- Flight or lab test documentation processes
- Procurement systems
- Electrical fabrication processes
- Machine shop operations (CNC, EDM, QA inspection, fit/finish processes)
- Rapid prototyping tools and methods
- Proficiency in tools such as CATIA, ENOVIA, NX, or Teamcenter
- Exposure to structural or stress analysis
- Experience supporting lab or test environments
Work Environment- 100% onsite role in Berkeley, MO
