Job Title: Hadoop Infrastructure Engineer Workplace Type: Hybrid-4 Days Onsite (New York, NY) Employment Type: Contract
An innovative organization is seeking a skilled Hadoop Infrastructure Engineer to join their team and contribute to building and maintaining their proprietary big data infrastructure. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on enterprise-level projects, including system backups, security enhancements, and custom Hadoop distributions, within a dynamic environment that values ingenuity and technical excellence. Required Skills:

• Strong expertise in Java programming
• Deep understanding of Hadoop ecosystems and code base
• Proficiency with Jenkins for build automation
• Experience with Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of build frameworks and deployment tools such as Ansible
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities
• Experience working with enterprise, in-house big data infrastructure (not cloud-based)
• Demonstrated ability to develop solutions from the ground up, including open-source contributions is a plus

Nice to Have Skills:

• Certifications in cloud data technologies or Hadoop-related fields
• Experience with open-source Big Data projects and contributions
• Familiarity with security and authentication protocols in big data environments

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Relevant technical background with significant experience in enterprise big data infrastructure
• Practical experience with building and deploying custom Hadoop distributions
• Proven track record of developing and troubleshooting complex data systems

Other Requirements:

• This is a 1+ year contract position
• Candidate must be comfortable working onsite four days a week in our New York-based facility
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
