Job Details:

Job Title: Milling Machine Machinist 1

Location: Palmdale, CA

Duration: 12 months

Roles & Responsibilities:

Set up and operate horizontal, vertical, plain, and universal milling machines

Perform machining operations including contouring, boring, gear cutting, spline cutting, and keyway cutting

Select, mount, and align machine attachments and tooling

Plan machining sequences, setups, cuts, feeds, and speeds

Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications

Use machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments

Perform shop calculations and layout measurements

Monitor and verify product quality according to specifications and control procedures

Basic Qualifications (Mandatory):

High School Diploma or GED

Knowledge of automated machinery

Ability to work any shift

Ability to perform moderate to strenuous physical work including bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs, and overhead work

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous machinist experience

Experience performing milling machine setups and machining operations

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
