Legacy.com is seeking a Manager of Instructional Design & Development to lead the ID&D function within the People Development team. This role focuses on designing cohesive learning programs and driving measurable business impact through effective training solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee an active slate of ID&D projects, including project schedule forecasting, resource planning and assignment
- Lead and manage a team of instructional designers and content developers
- Define and implement design & development standards, tools, and templates
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation through insights from learning analytics, associate feedback, and operational data. Use data to propose new curricula and courses or upgrades to existing curricula/courses
- Research and stay current with emerging educational technologies. Work with the ID&D to implement best practices
- Design and develop instructional materials in a variety of delivery formats for large/complex projects
- Design custom graphics, illustrations, and animations
- Perform testing and QA on all elements of eLearning courses
- Manage large/complex ID&D projects from initiation to project delivery. Develop detailed project plans and design plans. Coordinate and align the work of multiple team members and/or content items in the learning solution
- Maintains turn-around-time for project requests and curriculum feedback
- Work with organization leaders to identify performance gaps
- Conduct performance analysis, including gathering appropriate data and stakeholder needs. Identify root causes and provide recommendations for closing them
- Build and sustain relationships with key functional leadership and Subject Matter Experts
- Serve as a member of People Development's leadership team, including: Set enterprise strategic direction for the People Development group
- Manage requests for training and prioritize projects based on business impact
- Assign People Development resources to projects
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree (or higher) -OR- 4+ years professional work experience
- 5+ years' experience designing adult blended learning content
- 3+ years' supervisory or equivalent leadership experience
- Project management experience within a people development/training function strongly preferred
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect learning initiatives to measurable operational and financial results
- Outstanding planning, organization, and prioritization skills
- Experience within the telecommunications industry or similarly complex, highly-regulated, and fast-evolving environment
- Demonstrated performance consulting experience
- Proven ability to synthesize dense, technical, or complex information into engaging, practical, scalable, and standardized learning solutions
- Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design innovative learning approaches
