Typescript Software Engineer

Kforce Inc is seeking an exceptional Staff Software Engineer with deep backend expertise and a strong aptitude for technical leadership to help evolve a modern, cloud-native platform. This high-impact, senior-level role involves hands-on development and architectural leadership, focusing on designing and delivering scalable systems for customer-facing applications and internal platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Help drive the evolution of distributed, serverless platform architecture in AWS
• Partner with senior engineering leadership to influence technical direction and design decisions
• Lead architecture and design reviews across teams and domains
• Proactively identify and remediate technical debt and systemic gaps
• Promote engineering standards, architectural patterns, and best practices
• Contribute to platform intelligence initiatives, including automation, decisioning, and AI-enabled capabilities
• Design and build scalable backend systems, APIs, and services using TypeScript
• Develop cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, IoT services, Step Functions, and CDK
• Implement event-driven workflows and orchestration layers that bridge software, cloud, and connected devices
• Collaborate with frontend engineers supporting modern web applications
• Build internal APIs, service contracts, and developer-facing SDKs
• Design systems with observability, reliability, and resiliency at their core
• Implement robust testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines

Requirements:

• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• 3-4+ years in senior technical leadership roles (Staff, Principal, or Architect level)
• Expert-level backend development experience using TypeScript
• Strong hands-on experience building serverless, event-driven architectures on AWS
• Proven experience designing scalable APIs, distributed systems, and data models
• Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, Docker, and observability tooling
• Exposure to modern AI/ML systems and intelligent automation in production environments
• Strong understanding of security, compliance, and system reliability
