Backend Software Engineer Intern

SuppliFlex provides real‑time synchronized intelligence to streamline operations for multi‑channel e‑commerce small and medium businesses (SMBs). They are seeking a Backend Software Engineer Intern to help evolve their backend services and work closely with the Head of Product & Engineering and DevOps engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and extend API endpoints inside existing modules (inventory, orders, exceptions, reporting, POs) using Node.js/TypeScript
• Work with PostgreSQL (via Prisma or similar ORM) to add fields and small schema changes safely under review
• Help debug and improve integrations with external systems (Shopify, Amazon, QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho/CSV import) by adding logging, guards, and small fixes
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to define clear contracts between APIs and UI

Requirements:

• Solid foundations in at least one programming language
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a remote team environment
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent self‑taught experience)
• experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
• Basic experience with backend development (Node.js, Express, NestJS or similar) from coursework or personal projects
• Basic understanding of relational databases (SQL/PostgreSQL), including how to model tables and write simple queries
• Familiarity with REST APIs (request/response, status codes, JSON)
