HubSpot is an AI-powered customer platform seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead their Data Setup group. This role involves managing a team of engineers to develop foundational services and features for the HubSpot CRM, focusing on backend and frontend systems, and ensuring high availability and extensibility as the company grows.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 35+ engineers and managers across 9 teams spanning backend services and customer-facing frontend experiences
- Guide the group through the demands of operating at platform scale, ensuring foundational services and critical FE applications remain highly available and extensible as HubSpot continues to grow
- Analyze call and meeting transcripts to automatically update CRM
- Use AI to perform web research, enriching record data
- Allow customers chatting with Breeze Assistant to create new properties, objects, and configure sales pipelines
- Develop key upmarket features such as the graphical data model builder, conditional property logic, and custom data translations for international companies
- Fix problems with technology rather than process
- Build reliable systems and challenge the status quo
- Solve complicated technical problems and analyze tradeoffs with empathy for developers
- Demonstrate pragmatic decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Work autonomously, lead transparently, and prioritize product and people over strict processes

Requirements:
- Highly skilled, technical, and experienced in engineering management
- Experience leading a team of 35+ engineers and managers across multiple teams
- Comfortable spanning backend systems and frontend product surfaces
- Ability to balance developer velocity with reliability demands
- Proven ability to solve complicated technical problems and analyze tradeoffs with empathy for developers
- Ability to demonstrate pragmatic decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Work autonomously, lead transparently, and prioritize product and people over strict processes
