About this role
Beacon Hill is a premier National Information Technology Staffing Group, and they are seeking experienced engineering consultants to support a high-impact initiative focused on improving software delivery performance. The role involves hands-on execution and strategic influence to modernize DevOps practices, introduce scalable automation, and integrate AI-driven efficiencies into the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with engineering and delivery teams to assess current-state processes and identify improvement opportunities
- Design and implement scalable CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
- Establish best practices for pull requests, testing strategies, and deployment workflows
- Introduce AI-enabled solutions to enhance engineering productivity and efficiency
- Develop and socialize engineering standards and governance models
- Define and track key performance metrics related to delivery speed, quality, and reliability
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
Requirements:

- Strong background in DevOps, CI/CD pipeline design, and automation
- Experience driving engineering process improvements in complex environments
- Familiarity with integrating AI or machine learning capabilities into software development workflows
- Proven ability to establish engineering standards and improve delivery consistency
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Experience working in advisory or consulting-style engagements preferred
- Experience with a combination of the following is preferred: CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI), AI-assisted development tools and platforms, Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation), Version control systems (Git-based workflows), Automated testing frameworks and quality tools, Monitoring and observability tools, Java engineering / development (earlier in career, current not needed)
