Microsoft is one of the largest enterprise service companies in the world, and they are seeking a Principal Software Engineering Manager for their Red Team Intelligence team. This role involves leading a team to build tooling for security risk discovery and collaborating with partners to strengthen Microsoft's defenses in a complex threat landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Foster employee growth and development through thoughtful guidance, effective project execution, and clear performance management. Empower success by leading with care, coaching with intention, and setting a positive example
- Provide oversight and support to team members to ensure delivery of clean, extensible, and maintainable code. Ensure the correct processes are followed to achieve a high degree of security, privacy, safety, and accessibility. Champion best practices and coding standards while offering deep expertise in development and validation strategies
- Lead identification of potential security vulnerabilities. Build a team with expertise in large scale data analysis and graph traversal to develop capabilities that finds security antipatterns
- Lead collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to communicate findings, identify remediation opportunities, and improve Microsoft’s security posture
- Participate in on-call rotations accountable for the availability and reliability of service operations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
- Security Graph or Red Team experience strongly preferred
- 4+ years people management experience + OR similar experience managing projects
- 2+ years of cybersecurity experience
