Title: FinOps Reporting Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)
Position: Contract
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Monitor and optimize Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) costs and resource utilization by leveraging FinOps tools such as Apptio Cloudability and cloud cost management dashboards.
- Configure and maintain Grafana dashboards and report solutions to visualize Google Cloud Platform cloud data, including usage metrics, cost trends, performance indicators, and operational insights and understand plugins
- Understand Google Cloud Platform APIs such Cloud Asset Inventory, BigQuery information_schema.
- Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to implement cost governance policies, tagging strategies, and resource optimization practices aligned with FinOps best practices.
- Develop automated reporting and monitoring solutions to provide visibility into cloud spend, budget utilization, and anomaly detection for proactive cost management.
- Need to have working experience on Big Query for Cost and Slot Consumption, How Reservations, Quota works besides partition.
- Should have ability to tune BigQuery SQLs to address shuffle issue leading to slot overuse.
