Security Engineer

HireTalent is a staffing and recruiting firm seeking an experienced Security Engineer to support complex, product‐centric technology environments within a Cybersecurity Operations Center. The role focuses on securing systems, protecting sensitive data, and strengthening application and infrastructure security through audits, testing, and proactive threat research.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the security engineering lead for complex technology implementations in a product‐centric environment
• Bridge development and operations teams to improve security practices and system resilience
• Perform security audits, risk assessments, and application‐level vulnerability testing
• Conduct secure code reviews and recommend remediation strategies
• Design, develop, and implement technical solutions to mitigate security vulnerabilities
• Research emerging threats and identify new attack vectors
• Support secure system design while enhancing data privacy and user protection
• Collaborate with cross‐functional teams to improve overall security posture
• Contribute to incident prevention and continuous security improvement efforts

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in an IT‐related or Engineering field (or equivalent experience on a year‐for‐year basis)
• 10+ years of experience developing and implementing technical solutions to mitigate security vulnerabilities
• Strong experience safeguarding sensitive data from cyber threats
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals
• Experience with white‐hat hacking, penetration testing, or ethical security practices
• Ability to work effectively across legacy and modern technology environments
• Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and communication skills
