Senior Software Engineer, Backend

SmarterDx is a company that builds clinical AI transforming how hospitals translate care into payment. They are seeking a backend-oriented Senior Software Engineer to design and build core systems that handle, process, and analyze clinical data at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and launch new backend services, capabilities and improve the overall quality of SmarterDx’s apps
• Collaborate across disciplines to understand our users and iterate on new ideas
• Protect patients’ privacy and security through secure coding practices
• Research and advocate for improved techniques, processes, and designs within the team
• Support SmarterDx’s apps in production

Requirements:

• 5+ years of development experience with a focus on backend and cloud-based solutions
• Expertise in Python
• Experience working with Postgres or a similar relational database
• Experience building cloud-native distributed systems and working with event-driven architectures
• Experience working with data scientists to plan, build, and iterate on deliverables
• Experience working in a security-conscious environment
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience at a scale-up, or rapid growth, technology company
• Experience in the health tech domain, particularly in hospital billing systems
• Experience working with Kubernetes
• Experience working with Airflow and tools that handle ELT pipelines
• Experience with Snowflake and dbt
• Experience with full stack ownership and development (Javascript/React)
