Cloud Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Cloud Engineer for a Contract position. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining AWS environments and supporting ongoing migration efforts while addressing various technical requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Building and maintaining AWS environments
• Supporting an ongoing lift-and-shift migration for non-priority systems
• Contributing to active remediation efforts across several immediate priority areas
• Resolving Azure dependencies
• Addressing Power BI integration requirements
• Remediating JSON database field issues
• Supporting the migration of regression test suites to AWS including scoping the additional storage and pipeline capacity required

Requirements:

• 2–4 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a related platform/systems role
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining AWS environments, including EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, IAM, and related services
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent)
• Familiarity with lift-and-shift migration patterns and the operational considerations of migrating workloads to AWS
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, VPNs, load balancing, security groups)
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, or EKS)
• Proficiency with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
• Experience working in a HIPAA-regulated or compliance-driven environment
• AWS certifications (Cloud Practitioner, SysOps Administrator, Solutions Architect, or equivalent)
• Experience migrating workloads from Azure to AWS, including dependency identification and remediation
• Familiarity with SQL Server or PostgreSQL database environments, including JSON field handling
• Experience with Power BI or similar BI tooling in a cloud-hosted context
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and build/deploy automation (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
• Experience in healthcare IT or payer technology environments
