Lemma is an innovative company focused on revolutionizing policy and regulatory understanding through technology. They are seeking part-time policy analysts to monitor policy developments, synthesize complex issues, and communicate findings clearly to a non-specialist audience.
Responsibilities:
- Track relevant legislation, regulatory actions, and policy news across one or more domains
- Identify primary-source data and authoritative reporting on emerging policy developments
- Synthesize complex policy issues into concise, timely written updates
- Flag developments that matter — and explain why they matter — to a non-specialist audience
Requirements:
- Strong general policy analysis skills: you know which bills to track, which news sources to watch, where to find reliable data, and how to communicate findings clearly and on a tight timeline
- Deep knowledge in at least one policy domain — examples include (but are not limited to) frontier technology and AI, healthcare and Medicaid, trade and sanctions, financial regulation, energy, or labor
- Bachelor's degree in economics, public policy, international studies, IR, public administration, law, or a related field
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving priorities
- Familiarity with AI systems, data management, or data visualization is a strong advantage
- Prior experience at a respected industry association, think tank, policy consulting firm, government agency, or congressional office
- Expertise across multiple policy domains
- Experience producing newsletters, briefs, memos, or analyst notes for external audiences
