Job Title: Lead Agilist
Location: Cincinnati, OH (Remote)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Pay Rate: $70/hr on W2
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Agilist I to guide Agile teams in adopting and maturing Scrum practices while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and delivery of business value. The ideal candidate will act as a servant leader, coach, and facilitator for Agile squads, ensuring alignment with Agile principles and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Scrum Master / Lead Agilist for one or more Agile squads
- Ensure teams understand and apply Agile and Scrum principles, values, and practices
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies:
- Sprint Planning
- Daily Stand-ups
- Sprint Reviews
- Retrospectives
- Backlog Refinement
- Coach Product Owners and Development Teams on:
- Product backlog management
- Value-driven delivery
- Clear definition of success criteria
- Foster self-organization, accountability, and cross-functionality within teams
- Identify and remove team impediments; escalate when necessary
- Promote continuous improvement using metrics, feedback loops, and retrospectives
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders
- Shield teams from external disruptions to maintain productivity
- Build a safe, trusting environment for open discussion and problem-solving
- Coach teams on:
- Risk identification and dependency management
- Conflict resolution
- Software craftsmanship and quality practices
- Drive adoption of Agile and DevOps practices such as:
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Mentor and coach stakeholders across the organization on Agile practices
- Encourage innovation, learning, and growth within teams
Required Qualifications (Must Have)
- 5+ years of full-time professional experience
- 3+ years of hands-on Scrum experience
- Strong understanding of Scrum framework and Agile principles
- Proven experience:
- Coaching and mentoring Agile teams
- Facilitating meetings at multiple organizational levels
- Removing team impediments
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and facilitation skills
- Experience working across teams to resolve dependencies and challenges
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Bachelor s degree in:
- Business
- Computer Science
- Engineering
- or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Familiarity with other Agile frameworks:
- Kanban
- Scrumban
- XP (Extreme Programming)
- Mob Programming
- Knowledge of DevOps and engineering practices:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Automated testing frameworks
