About this role
Role Overview
Obtain medical history on all patients
Conduct preliminary eye exams, such as screening for vision problems or measuring intraocular pressure
Administer diagnostic tests and procedures, such as OCT, retinal photography or visual field testing
Assist with procedures, such as laser eye surgery or injections
Educate patients about eye care and vision health, such as the proper use of contact lenses or eyeglasses
Perform office and administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments or managing inventory
Prepare patients for surgeries
Support and assist with education of patients
Requirements
High School degree or equivalent required
Current certification as an Ophthalmic Technician from an accepted accredited organization is required
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Ophthalmic Technician (COT) required.
