About this role
Role Overview
- Responsible for assisting the department manager in the operations of the Finishing department
- Delegate work and schedule employees on Finishing machines
- Communicate with suppliers to order materials
- Work with the maintenance department to help repair machines
- Fill in for department manager in his absence
- Prepare daily work schedule (what jobs to run, what jobs need to be finished)
- Attend production and hot-list meetings to determine what jobs to run and discuss any production problems
Requirements
- Good technical knowledge of Finishing machines
- Ability to communicate with employees and plant management
- Must speak, read, and write in English
- Must be flexible: Able to work other shifts, overtime, and Saturdays when needed
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift 40 lbs. without strain and stand for 8-12 hours
