Senior Technical Officer – Strategic Evolution

Role Overview

• Contribute to the development of the question bank, reporting guidance, and scoring methodologies – across environmental disclosure, both for corporate disclosure and cities, states and regions.
• Prioritizing data points/metrics from relevant sustainability standards/frameworks and translating these into developments for the evolution of CDP’s corporate question bank and reporting guidance.
• Analysing response data and conducting desk-based research.
• Drafting and proofreading technical documents.
• Provide subject matter expertise and analytical support across CDP’s broader activities, including contributing to funded projects, publications, consultations, and engagement events.
• Deliver internal presentations/webinars.
• Support the planning, implementation, and optimization of processes related to the evolution and delivery of CDP’s question bank, guidance, and scoring methodologies.
• Author, edit and test questions and guidance content in CDP’s online disclosure systems.
• Supporting alignment of processes and content development between corporate and CStaR question bank, reporting guidance, and scoring development.
• Actively contributes to an effective and engaged team, clear on its purpose and contribution, by: Ensuring you know what is expected of you, through regular 1:1s, having clear objectives in place, and participating in open and honest performance and development conversations.

Requirements

• A relevant academic qualification
• Professional experience in a role related to environmental issues
• Technical expertise in corporate environmental disclosure
• A demonstrable understanding of the global sustainability agenda and of environmental-related risks, opportunities, impacts, and dependencies for companies and the public sector
• Ability to design, implement, and refine operational processes to drive efficiency
• A high standard of written English and the ability to present complex information in a simple and concise way
• Excellent research and analytical skills, and strong attention to detail
• The ability to organize and interpret qualitative and quantitative data
• A high level of motivation, with a confident and collaborative working style
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with an ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure
• The ability to work effectively and efficiently with team members of different technical and cultural backgrounds.
