Product Owner

Role Overview

• You take responsibility for our central core system and continuously develop its vision, roadmap and priorities.
• You decide not only what is built, but above all why.
• You provide orientation, set the functional framework and trust that the best technical solution will be developed together with the development team.
• You continuously evolve the roadmap and backlog, prioritize requirements and write clear user stories with explicit acceptance criteria.
• You identify recurring patterns, question their root causes and derive sustainable product improvements.
• You define KPIs, measure the success of your decisions and derive the next priorities for your product.
• Together with the development team, you continuously improve ways of working, prioritization and collaboration.
• You support the further expansion of our product and support areas, contribute your professional perspective to the recruiting process and help attract the right people for our team.

Requirements

• Product ownership in your DNA – you have already taken responsibility for a product or a significant product area as a Product Owner, Product Manager or in a comparable role.
• Self-initiative & a desire to shape things – you don’t wait for instructions but recognize what needs to be done and advance topics independently. You enjoy continuously improving structures, ways of working and collaboration.
• Structured, prioritizing working style – you keep an overview even with many parallel topics, set clear priorities and consistently bring things to completion.
• Thinking in numbers & KPIs – you base decisions on quantitative evidence and use data as a genuine control instrument, not as decoration.
• Strong communication skills – you move confidently between executive management, business units, the tech team and support and can distill complex topics clearly.
• Technical understanding – you don’t have to be a developer, but you quickly get up to speed with systems, databases and APIs and can communicate with IT on equal terms. Tools like Jira, Confluence and SQL don’t intimidate you.
• Proximity to engineering as a clear plus – experience with AI-assisted coding and a general closeness to engineering, ideally with basic knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript, help you assess technical contexts more quickly. This is not mandatory, but a clear plus.
• AI affinity – you use modern AI tools productively and recognize where they create real added value.
• Excellent German skills, spoken and written (min. C1) – our team and company language is German.
