Medical Assistant

Role Overview

• Responsible for the coordination of direct patient care activities
• Providing clinical support to providers within one of our clinical practices.
• Duties include:
• Check in patients
• Obtaining vital signs & medication reconciliation
• Patient medical history information
• Navigating electronic health record system (EPIC)
• Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients and physicians
• Uphold Baptist’s mission and core values that drive service excellence.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
• 1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic or similar setting required.
• Experience must include direct, hands-on patient care in a clinical setting.
• Or Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program, that includes hands on patient experience as part of the curriculum, required.
• Basic computer skills, experience with EMR System a plus.
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
• BAT and DOT certifications required for Medical Assistants in Occupational Medicine within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred Qualifications for a Certified Medical Assistant: Current Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, or AAMP.
• Or graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current unrestricted licensure.
