Surgical Technician – Urology Center

Role Overview

• Assemble supplies for surgical procedures
• Set up and maintain the sterile field
• Pass surgical instruments
• Assist with the in-room preparation
• Coordinate care for the surgical case, the surgeon, nurses, and other team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff
• Ensure availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies, and equipment for assigned cases
• Prepare Operating Rooms and ensure they are case-ready for the following day's cases
• Clean, arrange, and transport instruments according to department policy

Requirements

• High School GED
• Graduate of a NBSTSA-accredited or a NCCT-approved Surgical Technology school/program, surgical/scrub tech training through the military, or a minimum of two years on-the-job training (OJT) surgical/scrub experience at an acute care facility or ambulatory surgery center.
• Ability to follow oral instruction, read, and write
• Surgical Technician Certification (Preferred)
