Performs patient care tasks and duties which do not require a license
Supports the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary patient management team in H9 Nephrology/Surgical Specialties
Works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse(s)
Accepts directions from R.N.s and team members
Provides appropriate grooming/oral hygiene and comfort measures
Assists patients with activities (ambulation, up in chair, turn and reposition)
Documents all patient care activities/tasks, vital signs, ADL, wave tests, I&O's accurately and timely
Assists patients and visitors with information and/or solutions to problems
Notifies appropriate staff members of problems requiring prompt intervention

High School Diploma/GED and successful completion of patient care technician course within 3 months of hire
Must have excellent communication skills
Ability to follow oral instructions
Basic computer skills
Strong work ethics and accountability
Must be able to lift 100 lbs. to waist height
Certification as a nursing assistant or military corpsman preferred
Six (6) months or more of Patient care experience in acute care setting preferred
