Work under the supervision of the pharmacist to provide excellent customer service to patients receiving specialty infusion medications.
Responsible for the overall management of specialty infusion medications as related to coordinating with financial assistance teams, prior authorization teams, and scheduling teams.
Complete regular outreach calls to remind patients of upcoming specialty infusion appointments and check on the overall wellbeing of the assigned patients.
Manage prior authorizations and financial assistance for assigned specialty infusion patients if they are not being completed by other UAMS hospital personnel.
Serve as a role model and assist in the training of staff.
Refer all clinical issues to the pharmacist.
Requirements
HS/GED plus 4 yrs Pharmacy Tech Experience or Bachelors Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences; 1 year to obtain ASHP/ACPE accredited technician training or certificate program (such as PTCB Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician, ASHP Sterile Compounding Certificate, etc.)
National Technician Certification (PTCB)
Arkansas Pharmacy Technician Licensure.
Master’s Degree (Preferred)
2+ years of UAMS pharmacy experience (Preferred)
Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and EMR experience) (Preferred)
