Maintains a transparent, effective relationship with the Clinical Manager, Center Manager and Laboratory Manager in addition to supporting the organization’s activities

Performs various clinical tasks to include: aseptic procedures, taking vital signs, preparing patients for the practitioner’s care, observing and reporting patient symptoms, administer basic first aid to include use of the automated external defibrillator (AED), electrocardiogram (EKG), operating various office medical equipment, etc.
Prepares and breakdown medical instruments for in-office procedures as directed by the licensed practitioner
Administers injections/medications as directed by the licensed practitioner (Exception: medication requiring dosage calculations)
Collects and performs basic laboratory procedures as directed by the licensed practitioner
Performs office procedures including all general administrative duties required by the licensed practitioner
Ensures age appropriate-care is given
Ensures compliance with regulatory and Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) requirements
Attends required organization meetings and departmental meetings
Performs front and back office administrative duties, including answering and performing telephone calls and responding to correspondence requests and tasks (via mail, fax, email) in a timely manner
Complies with infection control standards for ambulatory health care organizations and adheres to infection control policies/procedures. Including standard precautions using personal protective equipment
Ensures and upholds customer service initiatives
Acts as a first level contact for the providers and support staff when troubleshooting issues
Ensures patients are properly checked in/checked out for visits via the electronic medical record (EMR) and depart with required paperwork
Schedules patients as needed for follow-up appointments
Ensures patient documentation is recorded in the EMR, including third party patient documentation that needs to be collected and scanned.
Participates as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide patient care in a safe manner
Maintains cleanliness of the unit, restocks supplies, and assists with supply orders
Supports after-hours or weekend events that may be scheduled (as needed)
Maintains knowledge of emerging trends and updates in clinical operations
Adheres to all HIPAA and confidentiality laws as appropriate
Travel as necessary using personal vehicle (must maintain current auto insurance at own expense)
Performs required laboratory quality controls
Utilizes third-party laboratory vendor provided computer systems as needed to route lab specimens to appropriate vendors for analysis
Performs basic laboratory procedures including observing and reporting patient’s signs and symptoms, administer basic first aid, operate office medical equipment, assists in emergencies
Prepare patient specimen(s) for testing by use of centrifugation and enter information into electronic health record for proper ordering and processing
Ensure patient specimen(s) are properly labeled and packaged for pick-up
Completes 48-hour chart check to ensure pre-visit planning is complete and lab orders are in the system ready for patient appointments

Requirements
Minimum of one (1) year of related work experience, Preferred
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Ex. Word, Outlook)
Experience with Epic, Preferred
Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health experience preferred
Education: Registered by the American Medical Technologists, Preferred
Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants, Preferred
Completion of Medical Assistant Training, Required
High School Diploma or equivalent, Required
Current Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) license
