Supervise the daily operations of the underwriting department.
Participate in the development and administration of underwriting guidelines for multiple credit union partners utilizing the Origence services programs.
Provide training, coaching, career development, and feedback with performance evaluations for the team.
Ensure teams are providing accurate, prompt, and courteous service to dealers, members, and our credit union partners.
Handle escalated calls from members, alliance partners, and credit unions.
Participate in the implementation of ongoing system improvements.
Recommend and implement streamlined process improvements.
Revise and communicate changes in direct and indirect underwriting and procedures.
Prepare, maintain, and report on volume reporting.
Enforce adherence to policies and procedures among staff.
Monitor underwriting functions including auditing application decisions, loan certification, and processing.
Assist with meeting operational and departmental goals (i.e. department budget, overtime, service levels, turnaround times, and volume goals).
Participate in department streamline and process improvement efforts.
Requirements
BA or BS degree desired or commensurate experience preferred.
10+ years of experience working in lending operations with a financial institution or relevant service provider.
Success in managing lending operations teams including the development of sound practices, policies, and procedures.
Contact center and remote delivery experience is highly preferred.
Direct experience with loan origination systems and related industry tool and programs; experience with system implementations and/or administration is a plus.
Knowledge of indirect auto lending or leasing, lending operations, and regulatory compliance.
Work independently with a high level of initiative.
Excellent oral, written, presentation and analytical skills.
Ability to organize, prioritize work, meet deadlines and established goals.
Specialized problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Internet and email skills.
Ability to work cross functionally with other departments.
Ability to interface with credit union and dealership management for the purpose of creating and furthering a business relationship on behalf of Origence.
