Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll for approximately 2300 employees in a multi-state environment using Workday
Manage Payroll Inbox and Workday Help
Maintain confidentiality and provide high level customer service to both internal and external customers
Audit payroll before and after submission by pulling reports and using formulas to reconcile data
Review time cards for hourly employees
Prepare final and manual checks for employees as needed
Accurately update, upload, and maintain employee records according to submitted action forms
Understand company policies on various payroll-related topics
Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Process all Verification of Employment paperwork for employees
Monitor incoming payroll emails and respond or forward to appropriate department
Assist in implementing and maintaining standard operating procedures for the payroll department
Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations
Uphold standards of trust and integrity due to access to sensitive information.
Requirements
B.S. degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or other relevant discipline or equivalent combination of applicable job experience preferred.
4+ years of experience in payroll processing; preferably in a mid-size multi-state organization
Familiarity with identifying and applying state-specific payroll requirements
Outsourced payroll service experience with Workday (specifically with time cards, absence, Workday Help, and off cycle payments)
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and pivot tables
Skilled at clearly conveying payroll knowledge to all levels within, and outside of, the organization
Organized with high attention to detail.
