Interpret and transcribe the dictation into patient history, exam notes, operative reports, referral letters, and other documents that may be requested
Follow patient confidentiality guidelines and legal documentation requirements
Perform data entry and data retrieval services, providing data for inclusion in medical records and transmission to physicians
Produce medical reports, correspondence, records, patient-care information, statistics, medical research, and administrative material
Translate medical jargon and abbreviations into their expanded forms to ensure the accuracy of patient records
Review and edit transcribed reported or dictated material for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper medical terminology
Perform a variety of clerical tasks, such as submitting insurance claims, typing, filing, and operating office machines

Requirements
High School Degree or GED
Associates Degree in Medical Transcription preferred, not required
Certified Medical Transcriptionist preferred, not required
Previous experience in a hospital or health care setting preferred, not required
Strong communication and organization skills
Ability to listen intently to recordings for details
Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment
Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner
