About this role
Role Overview
The Special Events Coordinator provides oversight and coordination for events that raise funds to support Planned Parenthood California Central Coast and Planned Parenthood Central Coast Action Fund.
Plan and executes agency special events on behalf of the Philanthropy Department.
Collaborates with the Director of Philanthropic Operations to plan the overall financial goals of the event program, as well as develop objectives related to measurable data points.
Collaborates with the Director of Philanthropic Operations to establish event fundraising goals and strategies to accomplish the financial and attendance-based goals of the events program.
Collaborates with various PPCCC cross functional departments to maximize event success.
Collaborates with on all event invitation materials and their distribution.
In charge of all event vendor contracting and execution.
Recruits, coordinates and facilitates volunteer engagement for special events.
Manages data regarding event giving.
Works in collaboration with the database staff to ensure that all data regarding the financial support for the event, is accurately maintained in the Development database.
Oversees and coordinates all marketing, communications and media related to events.
Requirements
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with donors, board members, prospects, volunteers and other staff.
Strong volunteer management skills desired.
Understanding of fundraising and donor relations, as well as specific experience in developing and expanding strategic events for fundraising purposes in a non-profit environment.
Strong tech abilities as two of the major events require live streaming as well as software tickets sales, tracking, paddle raise management and much more (Paybee, excel etc.)
Demonstrated ability to plan and manage events and other projects from conception to completion, including the ability to set, reach and measure outcomes.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft (Word, Outlook, Excel), Raiser’s Edge (or similar database) and ability to operate office equipment.
Requires valid CA driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, as required.
Strong commitment to the PPCCC mission, goals and policies.
Experience managing volunteers.
Experience with event planning.
Experience negotiating contracts a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in non-profit fundraising activities.
BA or AA a plus.
Experience with fund-raising software, particularly Raiser’s Edge preferred.
Excellent computer knowledge, event management software (Paybee a plus), Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word. and Adobe Suite experience a plus.

Pay Differential: $1.00/hour bilingual Spanish/English differential pay is offered upon passing the language assessment test.
