Role Overview
Leading the offshore PMO capability for strategic IT programs by setting short-term operating plans, governance methods, priorities, execution standards, and continuous improvement practices that improve delivery discipline, transparency, and business outcomes across the IT portfolio.
Providing leadership-level advice and decision support to IT and PMO leaders by synthesizing portfolio health, risks, dependencies, resource constraints, financial considerations, and trade-offs into clear recommendations that enable timely action.
Independently managing conversations with senior stakeholders across IT and business (Director and above levels) to drive alignment, decision making, and progress against plan.
Determining priorities, assigning work, managing capacity, coaching team members, and driving accountability for PMO deliverables across program management, reporting, automation, stakeholder communications, and executive governance routines.
Implementing scalable PMO processes, portfolio controls, reporting standards, tool-enabled workflows, and performance measures that strengthen consistency, predictability, and cross-functional alignment across strategic IT initiatives.
Ability to manage programs within prescribed capital allocation or operating budget. Proactively identify any variations, identify improvement measures.
Collaborating with various IT transformation office capabilities – portfolio and program management, demand intake, organization change management and comms, special projects/M&A.
Understanding corporate/regional technology standards and principles and incorporating them as part of program management office principles as it pertains to working with IT functional or business groups.
Influencing global stakeholders across India, US, and EU teams by communicating with clarity, resolving conflicts, navigating ambiguity, and driving cooperation across multiple IT functions, vendors, business partners, and leadership groups.
Supporting leaders with resource and capacity management planning for program management office team across different geographies.
Understanding nuances of complex, cross functional and large-scale strategic programs objectives, technical scope, business dependencies to be able to effectively apply program management fundamentals.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or higher and 10 -15 years of experience in IT Consulting or IT program management, portfolio management, PMO leadership, technology governance, or IT transformation roles.
Experience leading PMO governance, operating rhythms, portfolio reporting, delivery controls, and continuous improvement practices for complex IT strategic programs across multiple functions, geographies, stakeholders, or delivery teams.
Experience managing and developing direct reports, including objective setting, work assignment, coaching, performance feedback, prioritization, conflict resolution, capability building, and team operating model improvement.
Demonstrated ability to define priorities, manage capacity, assess resource needs, support budget or financial visibility, and provide leadership recommendations that improve delivery effectiveness across a functional area.
Strong executive communication, stakeholder influence, negotiation, and decision-support skills, including the ability to simplify complex information and drive action across managers, functional leaders, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Hands-on experience with PMO, reporting, and collaboration tools such as Smartsheet, Power BI, Microsoft Office Suite, and Jira.
Flexibility to manage stakeholders across US and EU for collaboration.
