About this role
Role Overview
Project management of a portfolio of typically 2–3 BESS development projects including:
Full ownership of all PM tools and accountability for programmes, budgets and risk registers;
Chairing of weekly project meetings and coordination of core project team;
Reporting and escalation.
Management of the planning process for greenfield projects in order to submit planning applications and gain all necessary consents, including:
Management of technical, environmental and planning consultants to deliver all assessments needed to support a planning application;
Discharge of pre-commencement conditions and consent amendments;
Stakeholder engagement.
Land agreements, including:
Supporting the legal and land teams to secure all necessary land agreements;
Landowner engagement.
Design
Acting as Principal Designer and ensuring constructability of projects;
Management of site investigations and environmental surveys to inform site design.
Grid connections (desirable), including:
General understanding of the grid application process;
Stakeholder engagement with network operators.
Support of the construction team on projects, including:
Discharge of pre-commencement conditions and consent amendments;
Securing any additional consents and permits.
Requirements
Proven project management skills including ownership of programme schedules, risk registers and budgets
Strong understanding of consenting regimes within the UK, environmental constraints and their impact on development
Understanding of land agreements relevant to development projects
Ability to manage consultants autonomously, including running tender exercises and managing consultant delivery
